It All Began in The Woods
Lindsay Hayes | Artist Bio
Lindsay Hayes is a watercolor artist who lives in the Northwest corner of Connecticut. Growing up on an old family farm with many acres of forest, her love for trees and nature blossomed. These days youβll find her art sold at Market Street Creatives - as well as select fairs and art shows throughout the year.
For Lindsay, the forest has always been more than a place to visit. Itβs a place to wander, to breathe, and to appreciate the beauty within the natural world. It is a sanctuary, where she feels most at home.
That connection lives at the heart of Twisted Oak Art.
Her inspiration is drawn from twisted branches, wild blooms, pine silhouettes, and creatures found in the woods. Lindsay creates art that feels both grounded and whimsical. She works with many different mediums. You will find her pieces contain pen and ink, india ink, watercolor and occasionally acrylics. Watercolor is her specialty and what her paintings are mainly composed of.
There is a style to her work that is all her own: an intentional wildness. Each piece transforms familiar pieces of nature into something truly original and deeply personal. Branches twist, flowers spill beyond boarders, paints drip and spray. Each piece carries the feeling that beauty is often found in the imperfect, untamed, and overlooked.
Twisted Oak Art grew from Lindsays desire to create pieces that donβt simply depict nature, but capture the way being fully immersed in it feels.
Her desire is that her work bringa a bit of that feeling into peoples homes. To create art for the wild at heart.
